Preferred Roofing has been saving its commercial customers time, money and headaches since 1997. Headquartered in Bethany, Oklahoma, the company installs high-quality, long-lasting spray polyurethane foam, which drastically cuts energy costs and provides a seamless roof that will stand up to the most extreme weather conditions without leaking.
The company, which has been in business since 1993, also paints metal roofs with an acrylic-based coating that prevents leaks and extends the life of the roof – which helps the environment because less roofing material ends up in landfills.
When Bill Feland established Preferred Roofing, most of his work was residential and light commercial. Four years later, he expanded the business to include spray polyurethane foam (SPF), as well as coating for commercial buildings, and he soon realized that he had found a niche, not only in the Oklahoma City area but also in other states.
Today, in addition to its status as one of the region’s leading experts in installing spray polyurethane foam roof systems, Preferred Roofing is the nation’s number 1 contractor using acrylic roofing coatings developed by the Conklin Company. Besides Oklahoma, Preferred Roofing has done work in Texas, Nevada, Alabama and Pennsylvania.
Preferred Roofing is the only company in the Oklahoma area that has earned certification from the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), the main governing body of the spray foam industry. The association is “committed to SPF performance, safety and industry excellence.”
Since Feland’s father was a roofer, he has been around the business since he was 10 years old. A graduate of Southern Nazarene University with a degree in Business Management, Feland worked as an insurance claims adjuster for six years while roofing on a part-time basis. Returning to his roots, he eventually got back into the roofing business full-time. His own son is a production manager with Preferred Roofing.
